9:08 p.m. — 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Trespass Warning. A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious male sleeping next to a business’ air conditioning unit. The deputy woke up the man, who became uncooperative and would not listen to orders. For the safety of the business, the deputy decided to handcuff the man until he finished the investigation. The deputy found no crime had been committed.

June 4
Manic for metal
6:11 p.m.— 6000 31st Street E. Theft. A witness observed a man loading a metal sheet onto the roof of his vehicle; he had taken it from a welding shop. Workers from the business found the suspect. The suspect said another person told him to take the metal sheet. He said he would return it, if asked. The suspect returned the sheet and drove off. Deputies obtained the tag of his vehicle and were able to get a description of the suspect. The sheet is valued at $300.

Simple fix
4:30 p.m. — 5600 block of Gardens Drive. Suspicious Incidents. A woman contacted the sheriff’s office after she arrived home and found the wooden trim around the inside of her front door lying on her living room floor. The six-foot-long trim had been nailed to the door. Deputies could not find pry marks on the door, and there were no signs of forced entry. Deputies searched her apartment and found nothing suspicious. No items were stolen. The woman contacted her handyman to fix the trim.

Choosey shopper
10:28 a.m. — 6200 block of State Road 64. Theft. A loss-prevention worker witnessed a shopper select merchandise from the jewelry section. The suspect then proceeded to the meat department, where she selected a prepackaged chicken breast. The suspect capped her spree by pulling bead strands from the craft aisle. She placed all the merchandise in her purse. She then went to the checkout lane to pay for the other merchandise she had selected. She paid for those items and exited the store without paying for the merchandise in her purse. Loss prevention detained the woman and contacted law enforcement. The woman was arrested. Stolen items were valued at $27.26.

Dropped call
6:18 a.m. — 400 block of 133rd Street E. Fraud. Unknown person(s) opened a phone account using another person’s information. The victim discovered her identity had been stolen when she received a phone bill from the carrier. The victim did not authorize anyone to use her information.

No ID
2:12 p.m. — 200 block of Beacon Harbour Loop. Lost Property. A woman lost a form for her prescription medication. A deputy completed a lost medication affidavit. The deputy then confiscated the woman’s driver’s license, because it had expired.

Pay Less
3:46 p.m. — 6600 block of 26th Court E. Information only. A roofing company employee became angry when he received his paycheck and discovered some of his pay had been withheld. The office manager found a damaged air-conditioning unit in an area the employee had worked. The employee refused to take the check home. He took pictures of business licenses on the office’s walls and left the building. The office manager called the sheriff’s office because he worried the employee would come back to vandalize the building.
