June 3
FISHY THEFT
8 a.m. — 1000 block N. Tamiami Trail. Criminal Mischief. Unknown suspects knocked over and broke four concrete fountains. Suspect/suspects also stole a concrete fish, which was a part of one of the fountains. On an earlier date, someone had been arrested on the property. It is possible that the subject may have retaliated for being arrested.

June 4
FUNNY MONEY
Midnight — 300 block of Gershwin Drive. Counterfeit Currency. One man offered to pay other man $50 to help him do yard work. To complete the transaction, the first man handed the second man $100 as payment. The second man returned two $20s and a $10 bill back to the first man as change. The two $20s and $10 bill were counterfeit.

June 5
NOW YOU SEE IT, NOW YOU DON’T
12:38 p.m. — 1200 block of Fifth Street. Miscellaneous. A resident called the police about an illegally parked car that was blocking his driveway. The resident called the police back to report that the car had left.

June 6
FAILED ATTEMPT
8:50 a.m. — 1500 block of N. Conrad Avenue. Burglary of a Vehicle. A home-surveillance camera captured a teenager attempting to break into a SUV. The suspect used his shirt to cover his hand to avoid leaving fingerprints. The vehicle door was locked, and the suspect was unable to get into the car. The suspect left the area.

SUSPICIOUS CRACK
7 p.m. — 400 block of N. Conrad Avenue. Criminal Mischief. Homeowner heard a “bang.” She then heard the kitchen window crack. The homeowner did not see any people or cars around at the time. When the police officer arrived, he found window damage that appeared to be from a BB gun.

BUMP AND RUN
11:17 p.m. —1600 block of Main Street. Unclassified. The unknown female driver of dark colored Jeep hit a light pole and caused damage to the pole. The driver fled the scene.

June 7
NO DOG LEFT BEHIND
1:53 a.m. — 5000 block of N. Tamiami Trail. Found Animal. After police arrested a man, his dog was left behind at the hotel where he was staying. The dog was barking at people and acting aggressively. Police call Animal Control, which was able to safely remove the dog.
