Señor Siesta opens on Siesta Key

Señor Siesta Latin Cuisine will have its grand opening at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 13. The new restaurant is located at 5110 Ocean Blvd., in Siesta Key Village. The menu will offer entrees and appetizers from the Latin world including: Spain, Portugal, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

According to its owners, the restaurant does not represent any one country but offers a variety of meals from the different Latin countries.

The menu features Caribbean food with its African influence and tapas so customers can try a variety of foods and build their own meals. There will be a rotating menu, as well as a few constant menu items.

Señor Siesta accommodates no more than 30 people so customers can expect an intimate experience.

According to the restaurant’s owners they hope to “not only enrich their customers culinary but also culturally.”

Señor Siesta plans to have a late night menu for the night crowd Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, which will feature an old family taco recipe, in addition to other items. One of the restaurant owners’ said that in the past four decades his family has sold more than 200,000 of these tacos.
The owners say Siesta Key has many good food establishments but they were ready to open a restaurant that filled a void.

Señor Siesta is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday and 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sundays . Meals will cost anywhere from $11 to $30.
