9:00 p.m.— 900 block of Beach Road. Possession with Intent to Sell. A man was reportedly distributing something from his backpack to a crowd, who then ate what he gave them. When asked if he had anything on his person or in his backpack, he pulled out a brown paper bag and told the officers he had mushrooms. He said he eats them to relax.
SUB-PRESSED MEMORY
9:00 p.m. — 5400 block of Plaza des las Palmas. Suspicious Incident. A woman reported her car stolen. The car was found in front of a sandwich shop with no sign of forced entry. The woman said she’d been out drinking the night before, and it was possible she left her car there so that she would not drive home drunk. She said she went to that shop frequently, but didn’t know if she had been there that night. The keys were found inside the car.

DIVINE INTERVENTION
9:21 p.m. — 100 block of Beach Road. Special Interest Person. A woman arrived home and found another female sitting on her couch, watching a movie and eating cookies. The suspect said God told her to go into the home and watch a Hollywood movie, and that God also gave her the code to open the door.

DUDE, WHERE’S MY SHIRT?
11:05 p.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Vehicle Burglary. A man walking to his car saw an older male, shirtless, sitting in the driver’s seat. The owner hit the alarm button on his keys to scare the shirtless man away, but was unsuccessful. When the owner asked the man what he was doing, he said the car was his girlfriend’s. The man then ran away.

SCOOTER SNATCHER
11:18 a.m. — 3300 block of Winton Avenue. Juvenile Problem. An officer met with a resident who advised the officer that an unknown teen removed a pink scooter from the neighbor’s property. The resident was able to retrieve the pink scooter before the officer arrived.
OFF INTO THE SUNSET
12:29 p.m. — 800 block of S. Palm Avenue. Theft. A resident reported someone stole his inflatable dinghy. The dinghy, used to get out to a sailboat, was anchored 150 feet offshore with a 10-pound anchor. A homeless man told the resident he saw a bearded man carry off the dinghy sometime around sunset two days earlier.
