The film “Color Me Invisible,” by students in the Lakewood Ranch-based Inspired Minds’ Film Kids program, has been selected for the Gasparilla International Film Festival in Tampa.

Thirty-two area students shot the film in the summer of 2012, at Braden River Elementary School.

“This is a huge honor, and we are so proud of our talented young cast and crew,” said Heather Manley, Inspired Kids partner and Film Kids co-director. “As I have said many times, I know filmmakers who struggle for years to get into an international festival and some who are still waiting for this to happen. It isn’t easy, and this is a great accomplishment for our students. I may be biased, but I believe these kids have created a special film, and I think it will have a positive impact on so many other kids and adults. Congratulations to all of our Film Kids.”
