Sometimes it is the simple, well-presented things that stand out. For me, this week represents a long-standing love affair with Selva Grill and the simple tastes of crisp plantain chips with chimichurri dipping sauce.

On a recent visit with pal Rebecca Baxter, a photog extraordinaire, we tucked into the lounge for a few happy hour surprises and the standard crunch of house-made plantain chips. The presentation is enough to make you feel the Peruvian love, but make sure you order up an accompaniment of the Selva Mojito: muddled orange, simple syrup, mint and a splash of pineapple and champagne---just five bucks at happy hour.

If you need more munchies, the Duck Confit on Baguette with Criolla Onion is just the right bite. But remember the plaintain chips are abundant and the dipping sauce a good pow!
