March 2
GAME OVER
12:01 a.m. ­­­— 1700 block of Morrill Street. Petit Theft. A woman told an officer she was involved in a dispute with her boyfriend. The woman said she was upset because her boyfriend took her Nintendo Wii and Super Mario Kart game without her permission. The woman said he took the game console and the game and sold it to his drug dealer in exchange for narcotics. The woman filed a statement saying her boyfriend admitted to taking the items. The Wii and game were valued at $200.

March 3
BOOZING WHILE CRUISIN’
1:03 a.m. — Intersection of Beach Road and Calle Del Invierno. Driving Under the Influence. A deputy followed a driver who was swerving into the wrong lane, stopping at inappropriate times and honking his horn. The man could not recite the alphabet and told the officer the test was “a joke.” The deputy discovered three empty beer cans in the man’s car. The man was arrested after it was discovered he was three times over the legal limit to drive.

March 4
TOO YOUNG TO PARTY
12:10 a.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Underage Possession of Alcohol. Deputies stopped two teenage girls who were carrying alcohol and asked to search their car. The officers discovered a near-empty bottle of vodka and two bags of marijuana. The deputies called the girls’ parents.

WINDOW SMASHER
6:00 p.m. — 1500 block of Second Street. Criminal Mischief. Unknown persons shattered the first-floor window of an office building. The manager told police she believed homeless people might have smashed the window. The manager said she would check a security recording to see if the camera recorded anything suspicious.

CHILDISH BEHAVIOR
4:30 p.m. — 1600 block of Main Street. Criminal Mischief. A man who does maintenance for a church told an officer an unknown person(s) had smashed the back window by the children’s playground. It appeared a large stepping stone had been picked up and used to smash the window. In another area, a red marker was used to make squiggly lines all over the wall, ground and door. The officer took photos of the area and collected a drink bottle as evidence to be checked for fingerprints.

March 5
PURPLE TARGET
9:00 p.m. — 600 block of N. Dodge Avenue. Petit Theft. A purple beach cruiser bicycle valued at $120 was stolen from the victim’s front yard. Six other bicycles were also in the yard, but none of them was stolen. The resident said there had been previous thefts in the area.
