St. Patrick’s Day is upon us once again. Wearing a “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” T-shirt and claiming, “What? I’ve always liked Guinness,” isn’t going to cut it this year. To celebrate the holiday in style, try your luck at one of the Irish-themed block parties taking place this weekend. We’ve picked our favorites:

Sam Snead’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival — takes place from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 26, on Hillview Street. This free block party features two bands, the Jacobites and Wallace and Friends, as well as family-friendly events, including face painting, magicians, balloon animals and caricature paintings.

Shamrock Pub's fifth Annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party — takes place from noon to midnight Sunday, March 17, at The Shamrock Pub. This free, fifth-annual block party benefits the YMCA Foundation Youth Services and will feature Irish and craft beers, Irish dancers, live music and art.

Twin Lakes Park St. Patrick’s Day Celebration — takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Twin Lakes Park. Entertainment includes the Paul Duffy Band, DC Irish Allstarz, the Drake Irish Dancers, the Drum Studio All-stars, SRQ Academy of Irish Dance and Jazz Juvenocracy, and of course, Irish beer and food. Cost is $7 and free for children ages 12 and younger.
