County prepares Siesta Key parking expansion

Sarasota County issued a request for quotes March 20, for work on Siesta Key Beach Access 7, intended to expand the public parking lot by eight spaces.

The contractor chosen for the work, estimated to cost less than $50,000, will remove part of a rope fence that surrounds current parking and install new and reused fencing roughly 60 feet west the existing barrier.

Contractors have until April 24, to provide quotes to the county, and work should begin two weeks after the winning bidder receives a purchase order, according to work specifications.
