Sarasota powerboat racing team finalists in Champion contest

Sarasota-based offshore powerboat-racing team, Scott Free Racing, has the chance to win $50,000. The team, which is comprised of father-son duo Steve and Stephen Kildahl, recently submitted a video in Champion Racing’s “Search for a Champion” competition, for which it was named a finalist and awarded $5,000.

The competition seeks grassroots racing teams, and the 15 finalists will compete for a $50,000 grand prize sponsorship Tuesday, April 2. Readers can view the finalists’ videos and vote at alwaysachampion.com until Sunday, March 24.

Scott Free Racing has achieved 14 wins, including three Florida championships, two national championships and one world championship.
