According to Jake Peterson, College freshman girls are easy, but sometimes they need a little Boost. Peterson is a fictional character representative of that good-looking college guy that gets what he wants.

“Boost” is a short film by SOURCE Productions from Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida. It’s based on a true story focusing on sexual assault on college campuses; one out of five college women are raped during their college years. It will premiere at Sarasota Film Festival 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10. April is fitting because it’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

“Boost” was written and directed by KT Curran. SOURCE Productions is a theater, film and video company founded by Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida with the tagline “Real Life. Real Theatre.”
