Sarasota Concert Association announces 2014 series

Sarasota Concert Association announced it’s upcoming season April 26, along with the announcement of newly elected board president Joy McIntyre. This series features highlights, including pianists March-André Hameli and Olga Stern, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the East Coast Chamber Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony.

January 6 features Canadian pianist Marc-André Hamelin. Later in the month, on January 27, will be the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio with guest violinist Nokuthula Ngwenyama — the trio which debuted in 1977 at the Inauguration of President Jimmy Carter. February 5 brings the 17 string musicians that make up the East Coast Chamber Orchestra. And February 19 offers Russia’s oldest symphony orchestra (formed in 1882), St. Petersburg Philharmonic. The season closes March 3 with a performance from the Detroit Symphony conducted by Leonard Slatkin with solo pianist Olga Kern.

Sarasota Concert Association’s free midday series, Munchtime Musicales, will run from November through April. More information will be released this summer.
