2013-14 community theater auditions and season at a glance

The theater seasons in Manatee and Sarasota counties are vast and varied. For actors, that forces us to prioritize and make decisions between auditions, shows and venues. What should we try out for? Which shows conflict with one other? What musicals take up the winter slots this year?

What’s more, with the Manatee Players now expanding their season to include the new Bradenton Kiwanis Studio Theatre, and The Players Theatre in Sarasota continuing its strong black box programming, how can one person possibly stay on top of all the possibilities?

Fear not, my theater friends! I have painstakingly laid out all the shows and auditions in one master calendar spreadsheet of awesomeness! Here, you will find the seasons for all area community theaters---from mainstages to studio theaters and the auditions that accompany them.

What’s important to note is that, as you may know, all of this is subject to change. Between now and the end of the season, any given theater may extend the dates of a show, change a production, move an audition---anything is possible. Also, this calendar does not include special programming (such as scheduled events, children’s theater, etc.) nor does it list rehearsal timelines. Use this as only a guidepost and be sure to check everything against the Manatee Players, Players Theatre and Venice Theatre’s most updated website information.
