One Popcorn: Flop
Two Popcorns: Wait till it’s on video
Three Popcorns: Go see it
Four Popcorns: Standing ovation

"The Great Gatsby"
Four Popcorns

Genre: Romantic Drama
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton
Director: Baz Luhrmann
Rating: PG-13
Comment: Outstanding performance by DiCaprio. Maguire and Mulligan were solid and well cast as well. The grandeur of the scenes and cinematography made it look like Gatsby directed it himself! A quality and compelling period piece.

"Disconnect"
"Three Popcorns"

Genre: Drama
Cast: Jason Bateman, Hope Davis, Frank Grillo, Michael Nyqvist, Paula Patton
Director: Henry Alex Rubin
Rating: R
Comment: A very dark but realistic depiction of our social media, cyber space addicted culture. It highlights the increasing velocity of cultural change and impact of this technology when used for destructive purposes. Despite the "R" rating teens and parents should see this and talk about it. Well done.

"Pain & Gain"
Two Popcorns

Genre: Action/ Adventure/Comedy
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Anthony Mackie, Tony Shalhoub, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry
Director: Michael Bay
Rating: R
Comment: Based on a true story of the most ignorant and dumbest "bad guys" ever. Some comedy but again, painfully dumb!

"Peeples"
One Popcorn

Genre: Comedy
Cast: Craig Robinson, Kerry Washington, David Alan Grier, S. Epatha Merkerson, Tyler James Williams
Director: Tina Gordon Chism
Rating: PG-13
Comment: A very "see spot run" and ridiculous story line.
