May 11
DOOR’S ALWAYS OPEN
3700 block Huntington Place Drive
. Burglary of a Structure. A resident took her dog for a walk and returned a half-hour later. When she returned, she noticed a bank envelope containing $800 was missing from her kitchen counter. The resident told police she always leaves her door unlocked when she walks her dog. The resident’s neighbors did not see anybody go into her apartment, and there were no signs of forced entry.

BEER BANDIT
11:15 p.m. — 600 block of N. Washington Boulevard.
Petit Theft. A gas station manager called police about a theft. In the surveillance video, a man was seen walking into the gas station. He went to the walk-in cooler, took a 12-pack of Bud Light and left the store. The man was driving an older-model, yellow Dodge van.

May 14
PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE
10:50 a.m. — 3500 block of Fruitville Road.
Petit Theft. A woman tried to pay for her purchases at the photo counter after waiting in line at the checkout. The store manager told the woman that she would check her out at an adjacent register, and the woman became upset and said she didn’t have time to wait. She placed 78 cents on the counter saying, “That should cover it,” and walked out of the store. The manager followed and told the woman 78 cents would not cover the cost of the items. The woman shouted that she had been waiting all morning for various things, and she was tired of it. She got in her car and left the area.

EVERY DROP COUNTS
8:30 p.m. — 900 block of Royal Palm Drive. Petit Theft. A resident noticed her neighbor was taking water from her outside hose without her permission. The resident confronted her neighbor, who admitted to taking the water. The neighbor gave her $7 for taking the water. The resident did not want to prosecute, but wanted to document the incident for the water company.

May 15
SIDEWALK SNOOZE
8 a.m. — 900 block of Central Avenue.
Lodging Out-of-Doors. An officer issued a lodging warning to a homeless woman for sleeping on the sidewalk. The woman was blocking the sidewalk with her belongings. The woman was cooperative and said she understood the warning before she moved her belongings.
