Halloween is one of the rare holidays when you can feel completely justified in extending the celebrating to span multiple weekends (Apparently, trick or treating in December is frowned upon, though). And who are we to judge? If one costume party is good, then three — even four — must be better, right? So, All Hallow's Eve has technically already "come and gone." So, it's technically "November" — we know that's not stopping anyone. There are plenty of ways to prolong the celebration before we're prematurely bombarded with the holliest and jolliest in decorations, sweaters and themed albums. Here are a few ways to enjoy Halloween weekend: round one or two (who's counting, anyway?):

FRIDAY, NOV. 1

  • Cars Under the Stars — takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum, 5500 N. Tamiami Trail. This kickoff party for the SECA Car Show, 11 a.m. this Sunday in Southside Village, will benefit the Life of Riley Foundation. Tickets are $75. Sunday car show is free.
  • Roast Grand Openingtakes place at 5:30 p.m. at Roast, 1296 First St. Enjoy your dining experience at the grand opening of downtown Sarasota's newest establishment, opened by the former executive chef at Polo Grill and Bar, Andrew Thompson.

SATURDAY, NOV. 2
