How often do we get to hear from a doctor with a desire to empower people with love? Jessica Lipham practices this like a modus operandi. The word love certainly isn’t used often in the professional field. It has a smack to it — an airy sentimental quality tempting one to run among the wildflowers.
And yet, to love is to will someone good. So, to practice it would rally all skills to that end.
It makes sense then, that Lipham would be drawn to become a naturopathic doctor. The entire field is focused on broad-based approaches to health, taking into account the whole person.
Even her office reflects a homey quality that leads you to sink down as you share your concerns or needs. She loves softball, has two adorable children and suggests herbs with an ease that leads you to wonder if she just might cook them up for you on the spot.
It is a skill, this type of care, that lies within all of us. From smiling to the grocery clerks to allowing a car to pass you with ease, when we run across individuals that look to model their lives with these principles, they are noteworthy.
Jessica’s main strength in this empowerment quest is her playful openness to learn. Not only is she always taking more courses to increase her toolbox for her office, but she also practices QiGong to learn how to balance and increase energy. And she listens. When you speak, you can tell she is right there with you, moving out of her own story line and into yours for the moment.
Her business, THRIVE, is one of the main sponsors of Vibrance! Natural Living Festival. There, she wants to give everyone a taste of the fun ways to pursue personal health care. You can visit her Nov. 9, downtown, and just see if what is written here rings true for you, too.
