+ Lakewood Ranch High Boys Swimming
The Lakewood Ranch High boys swim team scored 397 points to win the Class 3A-District 8 meet Nov. 2 in Sarasota.

The Mustangs finished five points ahead of second-place Seminole Osceola. Braden River finished fourth.

Sang Cho (100 breaststroke), Eric Erlenmeyer (100 backstroke) and Luke Hanner (100 butterfly) all won individual district titles for Lakewood.

The Mustangs 200 medley relay of Erlenmeyer, Cho, Daniel Erlenmeyer and Jonathan Chaires also finished first.

Daniel Erlenmeyer finished second in the 500 freestyle and Lakewood’s 200 freestyle relay team of Cho, Kevin Berkenbush, Chaires and Hanner also finished second.

+ Lightning holds golf tourney in LWR
The Tampa Bay Lightning hosted its inaugural alumni charity golf tournament Nov. 4, at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club.

The scramble-style tournament benefitted the Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund and Project Light.
Several Lightning players, coaches and managers, including Martin St. Louis, Steven Stamkos and Steve Yzerman, and former players Dave Andreychuk, Brian Bradley and Phil Esposito, were on hand for the event.

+ i9 sports season registration begins
Registration for the i9 sports winter season, which runs Jan. 11 through March 1, is now underway.

The league offers boys and girls, ranging in age from 3 to 14, the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports, including flag football, soccer, T-ball, basketball and cheerleading.

+ LAX tournament accepting registration
Team registrations are now being accepted for the 2014 Lax Max Florida Lacrosse Tournament April 6 and April 7, at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch.
Lax Max is designed for recreation travel and town team programs, ranging in age from U10 to U18, within the state of Florida. Teams can compete in a one-day, three-game jamboree or a two-day tournament. This is a non-club level event.

+ Former Southeast star to offer training
Former Southeast High and NFL quarterback Adrian Peterson is now offering Failure Is Not An Option training programs for up-and-coming athletes.
The current Tampa Bay Storm quarterback offers one-on-one personal training sessions for players looking to improve their speed, power, agility, quickness and knowledge of the game, among other areas.
Peterson individually trains all skill positions, ages 10 and up, on Saturdays and Sundays. Small group sessions also are available. Weekend sessions typically include skill work and speed and agility training, as well as beach workouts, field work and yoga sessions.
