+ Blazers finish fourth at state meet
The Sarasota Christian boys golf team tied for fourth place at the Class 1A state tournament Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, at Deer Island Golf and Lake Club, in Tavares.
The Blazers shot a combined 600 to finish behind Lake Mary (580), Circle Christian (591) and the Community School of Naples (592).
Charles Wang shot a 142 to lead the way for Sarasota Christian. Tony Jiang shot 148, followed by Ken Shi (155), Zong Fan Li (155) and Nate Patrick (199).
+ Former Southeast star to offer training
Former Southeast High and NFL quarterback Adrian Peterson is now offering Failure Is Not An Option training programs for up-and-coming athletes.
The current Tampa Bay Storm quarterback offers one-on-one personal training sessions for players, ages 10 and up, looking to improve their speed, power, agility, quickness and knowledge of the game.
Weekend sessions typically include skill work and speed and agility training, as well as beach workouts, field work and yoga sessions. Small group sessions are also available. For information, visit trainfinao.com or contact Anna Traver

+ Lady Blazers fall in regional quarterfinals
The Sarasota Christian volleyball team fell to Seacrest 25-13, 25-22, 25-21 in the Class 2A-Region 3 quarterfinals Oct. 29.
Heidi Miller led the way for the Lady Blazers with 10 kills and one ace. Briana Eddy had six kills and one block. Cheyenne Miller added six kills.

Registration is underway for the i9 sports winter season, which runs Jan. 11 through March 1.

+ Riverview Boys Cross-Country
The Riverview High boys cross-country team captured its first regional championship at the Class 4A-Region 2 meet Nov. 2, in North Port.
The Rams scored 63 points to finish ahead of Newsome (120).
Blake Riley crossed the finish line in 16 minutes, 27.50 seconds to finish fourth overall. Warran Grajalez was fifth in 16:29, followed by Bryce Vokus (sixth, 16:33.10), Russell Natherson (18th, 17:05.10) and Matthew Berman (41st, 17:32.30).
