The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Nov. 5
Artistic expression
8:24 a.m. — 8100 block of Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Criminal Mischief. An assistant property manager reported someone had written “skom” and painted arrows on mailboxes. The damage to the mailboxes was estimated at $600.

Nov. 9
Repossessed 
8:20 a.m. — 43rd Street Boulevard E./ Fourth Avenue E. Property Found. A man was walking with his wife when they found a wallet at a school bus stop. The couple also found a hairbrush, mascara and a phone charger. A deputy returned the items to their owner.

Get cracking
10:22 a.m. — 200 block of Tidal Lane. Information Only. A man reported someone threw eggs at his vehicle. The man said his upstairs neighbor may have thrown the eggs.

Rife reclaim
11:57 a.m. — Tallevast Road/U.S. Highway 301. Found Property. A Florida Highway Patrol officer retrieved a rifle from a vehicle that had just been in an accident. The driver was transported to the hospital, and the FHP officer requested the Sheriff’s Office hold onto the rifle for safekeeping. The rifle was unloaded. The Sheriff’s Office informed the driver how to claim his rifle back.

Open-and-shut case
5:42 p.m. — 5700 block of Timberlake Drive. Suspicious Incidents. A deputy responded to a possible burglary attempt. A homeowner was checking the status of his landscaping, which a yard crew has just completed, when he noticed the screen to his bedroom was partially opened. Next to the screen, the homeowner found a tool covered in rust. The homeowner does not believe his yard crew attempted to burglarize his home. He has retained the yard crew for seven years. There was no damage to the home, and deputies determined no one had broken into the residence.

Nov. 10
You don't have mail
7:44 a.m. — 7700 block of 251st Street E. Information Only. A woman reported unknown person(s) knocked down her mailbox. She observed tire marks on the front lawn where her mailbox used to be.

Leaving a trail
9:16 a.m. — 5700 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Theft. Unknown person(s) entered a storage yard at the front of a mobile home park by cutting the chain of a lock. Once inside, the person(s) stole a trailer and left the area.
