Nov. 4
CAST AWAY
8 a.m. — 600 block of South School Avenue. Littering. A man, who had recently cleared a property he owned, found an unknown person had dumped a boat filled with miscellaneous items on that property. The boat’s hull ID had been removed, but the vehicle identification number plate was still on the boat. Police tried several times to contact the boat’s listed owner, but were not successful.

Nov. 5
TRAFFIC JAM
6:40 a.m. — 5400 block of Ocean Boulevard. Posession of Open Container. Officers received a call regarding a man yelling at the traffic passing him at an intersection. An officer found the man, who appeared to be intoxicated. Asked what he had in a bottle in the side pouch of his backpack, the man said its was orange juice. The officer asked if he could examine the bottle, and the man shrugged. The officer smelled alcohol mixed with the juice; he later found a half-empty bottle of vodka inside the man’s backpack.

Nov. 6
RUFF STUFF
12:53 a.m. — 2400 block of Eighth Street. Dispute/Fight. A woman complained that her neighbor said “good dog” when the neighbor’s dog started barking at the woman. She also said the neighbor walked by with two other neighbors and said, “I’ve got two bodyguards in case you get crazy.” The neighbor said there had been an ongoing problem with the woman; the officer asked the neighbor not to antagonize the woman.

SPIN DOCTOR
9:23 a.m. — 2000 block of Bahia Vista Street. Civil Problem. The manager of a laundromat wanted a patron removed from the store because he brought a service dog into the establishment. The manager said having any dog on the premises was against her rules. An officer explained that removing the man from the property because of his service dog would expose her business to civil penalties. She then said she didn’t want the man removed, but wanted it noted that he was not welcome at the laundromat.

WHO NEEDS ENEMIES?
10:18 p.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard. Battery. A man said his friend came up to him at a bar, yelled something in the man’s ear and then punched him in the face. The friend fled the area before officers arrived.

SHOPPING HIT LIST
1:31 p.m. — 1400 block of First Street. Dispute/Fight. Two women were engaged in a verbal dispute at a grocery store. One of the women alleged the other woman pushed a shopping cart into her while she was shopping. The other woman denied that she pushed a shopping cart into the woman. Both women said the dispute has been ongoing for some time, but did not state the reason.
