The Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce will have a new home by mid-December.
The organization signed a three-year lease Tuesday for Unit 102 at the Centre Shops of Longboat Key, 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive, according to chamber President Gail Loefgren.
“It’s mid-Key, it’s easy to find and we’ll have visible signage,” Loefgren said. “The Centre Shops is a very active shopping center with a lot of great shops, and the Education Center alone has a lot of members. I think it will be a win-win situation for both us and business owners.”
The chamber moved to its current location in Mediterranean Plaza, 595 Bay Isles Road, in March, after operating out of the Longboat Observer building at 5570 Gulf of Mexico Drive for four-and-a-half years.
Loefgren served as the chamber’s president from 1993 through 2008 and returned to her role in September.
After her return, she told the Longboat Observer that she is grateful to Getzen Realty for providing space at Mediterranean Plaza but would make finding a new, more visible location a top priority.
