The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Nov. 16
Road block
6:06 a.m. — 6000 block of 39th Court E. Property Found. A deputy responded to a traffic complaint. The deputy arrived to find a woman complaining that she found a cell phone in the middle of the road near her home.

Nov. 20
No one’s home
10:20 a.m. — 5300 block of 47th Street E. Burglary. An unknown person entered an abandoned building by unknown means. Once inside, the person stole unknown items. The person fled in an unknown vehicle. A bank owns the building.

Service cut
11:45 a.m. — 8100 block of Cooper Creek Boulevard. Theft. An unknown suspect entered a secure, fenced cell tower. The person cut the wires and stole a copper ground bar valued at $1,000. Damage to the wires was valued at $3,500. Seven cell phone companies have service within this fenced area. Two other sites within the gates also were vandalized.

meaty issue
1:42 a.m. — 2900 block of 53rd Avenue E. Theft. A person entered a department store and selected two packages of steaks and one package of chicken from the shelf and placed them in her cart. She then went to the paper-goods aisle and concealed the items in her purse. Loss-prevention staff witnessed her do so. The woman eventually paid for some items and left with others, for which she did not pay, in her purse. She was detained upon leaving the store. Stolen items valued at $32.

Nov. 21
Late notice
8:58 a.m. — 6200 block of State Road 64. Lost Property. A person was shopping at a department store last week and left her wallet inside the shopping cart. She did not notice the wallet was missing until Nov. 20. When she went back to the store, no one had reported finding a wallet.

Bothersome bicycle
9:06 a.m. — 300 block of Petrel Trail. Property Found. A woman noticed a bicycle lying on the sidewalk across the street from her home. She saw the bike still there the following morning. A deputy responded and talked to neighbors. No one knew who owned the bike. The deputy took custody of the bike.

garage grab
10:26 a.m. — 6000 block of Anvil Avenue. Burglary. A man reported that someone entered his garage some time in October and stole a golf bag containing seven golf clubs. The items were valued at $360. The victim believes the incident occurred when he was mowing his backyard and left the garage open.

No bones about it
1:24 p.m. — 10000 block of Reagan Dairy Trail. Suspicious Incidents. A man was putting up Christmas lights at his home when he went behind some bushes and found a bone. The bone was located in a flowerbed. The ground beneath the bone appeared undisturbed. The bone was photographed and placed into evidence. The type and origin of the bone is unknown.
