So, you survived Thanksgiving with the family, and now you're looking for something — anything — to get you out of the house. Look no further. Here are our best bets for this weekend:

  • JOHN MAYALL’S 80TH BIRTHDAY SHOW takes place at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. $45. (989) 327-8013. See the man touted as the godfather of British blues live in Sarasota as he celebrates his 80th birthday. Opening acts include Larry McCray and local act, The Tucci Band.
  • LIGHT UP SIESTA KEY VILLAGE takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, November 30, in the Siesta Key Village. Free.  The Siesta Key Village Association presents the 29th annual event, which turns the Siesta Key Village into a winter wonderland. Christmas tree lighting taking place at the Gazebo, located at Ocean Blvd. and Canal Road, at approximately 6:15 p.m. Holiday parade will follow, beginning at Avenida del Mare and Beach Road.
  • A TASTE OF CHANUKAH takes place from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. Free. Enjoy traditional Jewish cuisine with plenty of live entertainment, including performances by the Wallenda family, a snow slide, skateboard demonstrations and more.
