Sept. 26
Love thy neighbor
3:38 p.m. — 200 block of Cape Harbour Loop. Information Only. A woman reported that someone had spray-painted her car windshield blue. She claims that the boys who live next door were using blue spray paint earlier in the week. The woman was able to wash off the paint.
Sept. 28
Auto incorrect
11:36 a.m. — 3000 block of 57th Drive E. Fraud. Unknown persons stole a woman’s personal information and made several transactions on her two bank accounts. The woman said that when she first enrolled in an online payment system in August they requested her bank information for a monthly auto-charge. Since her enrollment, charges have been made in Texas and Nevada. The woman contacted her bank, which canceled the transactions and her card.
Rude awakening
12:22 a.m. — 3000 block of 54th Drive E. Criminal Mischief. A resident reported that sometime in the middle of the night, an unidentified person broke in through her bedroom window with an unknown object. The woman said that she had earlier observed juveniles across the street from her house.
Sept. 29
Plant rant
9:17 a.m. — 7000 Block of Pine Trace Drive. Burglary/Larceny. A resident reported that someone entered his lanai and took an orchid plant, damaged another plant and threw dirt into the swimming pool.
Burning rubber
1:27 p.m. — 44th Ave E. and Morgan Johnson Road. Suspicious Incidents. A woman reported that someone dumped and burned a tire. The driver’s face was not visible by the woman who reported the incident.
Five-finger discount
2:46 p.m. — 2000 block of 53rd Ave. E. Petit/Grand Theft-Shoplifting. A thief attempted to leave a store with unpaid items. He was confronted by security and arrested and transported by police to Manatee County Jail.
Smooth criminal
9:06 p.m. — 1000 block of Piedmont Park. Burglary to Vehicle. While the victim was not home, someone entered his locked car and took items. The thief then fled the scene by unknown means. One fingerprint was located and lifted.
You’ve been warned
10:11 p.m. — 3000 block of 65th Avenue Circle E. Trespass Warning. In the presence of an officer, someone was given a trespass warning. The violator is no longer allowed onto the property of the reporting party. A fingerprint was obtained by police.
