SEPT. 23
LEAVING A MARK
7 a.m. — 1700 block of Midnight Cove Road. Suspicious Activity. A man said that, during the day, an unknown person entered his house and rearranged items inside. The man said he had kept a spare key outside and thought someone used it to enter without force. A GPS unit on his counter was turned on, a stool near the kitchen had been moved, a seat cushion was lifted, and his wife’s underwear drawer had been rifled through. No items were taken, and nothing was damaged.

Sept. 26
SMOKING PAINT GUN
11:10 a.m. — 2200 block of North Washington Road. Civil Problem. A man said he and a partner had planned on opening a painting business. The man had purchased a paint gun and gave it to the partner to keep in a storage unit. The two had a falling out; and the man wanted to get his paint gun back from his partner. The partner said he was cleaning out his storage unit and would return it at the end of the day.

Sept. 29
ROCK SHOW
10 a.m. — 3500 block of South Tamiami Trail. Suspicion General. A person alerted officers that a man was selling items on property the person owned. The man was selling stones and minerals. He told officers that he didn’t believe there would be an issue because the business he was operating in front of was closed for the day. He agreed to move on without an issue.

BUTTING IN
12:16 p.m. — 1500 block of First Street. Dispute/Fight. A security officer at a bus station said a woman regularly comes to the station. The woman bothers customers and picks up discarded cigarette butts. When the security officer asked the woman to leave, she became argumentative. The woman left by the time officers arrived, and could not be located.

SODA JERK
12:01 a.m. — 2800 block of Pershing Avenue. Battery. A woman was attending a wake. While she was there, she started a conversation with an ex-boyfriend. The man’s current girlfriend was upset that the woman was speaking with the man, and left the property. The current girlfriend returned after a short time with three soda cans, and she threw them one at a time at the woman from 10 feet away. Two of the cans struck the woman in the face and caused an abrasion on her lip. The other woman left the scene before officers arrived.
