Aug. 28
SWINGING DOOR
4:45 p.m. 1000 block of North Tamiami Trail. Trespassing. A woman was smoking in front of the doors of a building when a man approached and told her to move. She told him he should be more polite and that he could have used another door. The man grabbed the door and opened it, pushing it into the woman in the process. When the woman told him he hit her with the door, he began to swear at her. The man was trespassed from the property.

NINTEN-DON’T
7 a.m. 5200 block of North Tamiami Trail. Theft. A woman said her ex-boyfriend was babysitting her kids when she went to work. When she returned home from work, two videogame consoles and seven video games were missing. She said she suspects her ex-boyfriend, because he was acting unusual. The ex-boyfriend denied any knowledge of the missing consoles.

Aug. 29
CHECKING OUT
8 a.m. 3400 block of South Tamiami Trail. Schemes to Defraud. The owner of a business said he issued a check for $2,500 to an employee in March, but later told the employee not to cash the check and paid him in another manner. On Aug. 26, the check was cashed. It appeared to have been altered to match the date it was cashed.

BREAKING POINT
12:30 p.m. 2100 block of Siesta Drive. Dispute/Fight. A woman tried to get on a SCAT bus, but the driver informed her that she had a trespass warning and couldn’t get on the bus. The woman said she needed to get on the bus to get to the hospital because she may have broken a finger. When records of a trespass warning were found, the woman said she had completely forgotten about the incident.

OFF THE CLOCK
3:40 p.m. 2100 block of North Osprey Avenue. Dispute/Fight. A woman and her co-worker had gotten into a dispute at work earlier in the week, but the woman believed it had been resolved. When the woman came home and got out of her car, the co-worker pulled up in another vehicle. The co-worker got out of her car and yelled that she was going to fight the woman. The woman went into her house, and the co-worker left.

Aug. 30
HOT ROD
3:00 a.m. 1900 block of 33rd Street. Arson. An officer found a car with a burned hood parked in the front yard of a residence. The owner of the car said he was not aware of any enemies he may have and couldn’t think of who would set his car on fire.
