The visiting Lakewood Ranch High football team fell to Bayshore 35-13 in non-district action Sept. 13.
Trailing 14-0 in the second quarter, Lakewood quarterback Chad Rex connected with Cameron Pearcey for a 45-yard touchdown to pull the Mustangs within 14-7 with 9 minutes, 20 seconds left in the first half.
Bayshore responded with a pair of touchdowns to take a 28-7 lead with 10 minutes to play in the third quarter.
Rex found the end zone one a 2-yard keeper later in the third quarter, but the kick failed.
With the loss, Lakewood falls to 1-2. The Mustangs will open their district season next Friday night at rival Braden River.
