Barbecue cook-off heats up Main Street

The competition is heating up for the fifth annual Main Street Restaurant BBQ Cook-off Saturday, Sept. 21, on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Local restaurants fighting to win the award for best barbecue include Ed’s Tavern, El Lago Ranchero, MacAllister’s Tavern and Grill, Main Street Trattoria, Station 400, Polo Grill and Bar and defending champs, Pincher’s Crab Shack. Tasting times run from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will also feature live music by The Northwest.

Event sponsors are MacAllister’s Tavern and Grill, Ed’s Tavern and Main Street at Lakewood Ranch.
