Mustangs extend winning streak

The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team extended its perfect record to 41-0 with victories at the Baker Invitational and Outback Invitational.

On Sept. 14, the Mustangs defeated 10 teams to capture their fourth-consecutive Baker Invitational title, at Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral.

Lakewood shot a combined 7-under par 281 to finish 13 shots ahead of Miami Christopher Columbus.

Danny Walker shot a 5-under par 67 to win the event, which he also won in 2010 as a freshman. Ramsey Touchberry was third with a 69. Kelly Sun shot 72 and Luke Miller added a 73.

Lakewood won its fourth tournament of the year, defeating 15 teams from around the state in the Outback Invitational Sept. 16, as East Lake Woodlands South Course in Oldsmar Sept. 16.

Sun finished 2-under par to win the rain-shortened event as an individual. Miller and Touchberry both finished 1-over par. Walker and Charlie Sun both were 3-over par and Ben Parisi finished 5-over par.
