Becky Stoll and Sally Schoeffel, both registered nurses at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, recently returned from two weeks participating in the Timmy Global Health Medical Brigade to Ecuador.
Thirty college students (including Stoll’s daughter, Rebecca, a USF senior) from USF and the University of Michican joined eight medical professionals in the impoverished and remote Chontapunta region of the Amazon Basin. The group treated 700 patients in eight villages and sometimes traveled by pick-up truck or canoe to reach the daily clinic sites.
