The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Sept. 12
You’ve got male
7:31 p.m. — 6000 block of S.R. 70 E. Information Only. A woman reported an incident she had with a potential patient. The woman is a mental-health counselor and said that she received an email full of questions from someone who said he was a 10th-grader. When she told him that she needed a face-to-face assessment in an office setting to draw any more conclusions, he sent her an angry email and an inappropriate photo. She sent him a warning email and decided to talk to the police. There is no other information known about the alleged 10th-grader.
Sept. 13
REDRUM
12:32 a.m. — 6000 block of Charparral Ave. Suspicious Incidents. Although there were no forced signs of entry, someone appeared to have gotten inside a woman’s possibly locked car and left a message. “Murder” was written backward on the car’s rearview mirror. The owner believes it might be her roommate trying to “set her up” because she doesn’t like her.

Grab ’n’ go
5:45 p.m. — 2000 block of 53rd Ave. E. Petit/Grand Theft — Shoplifting. Police were called when a woman was reported leaving a store without paying for items. The woman was stopped and confronted. All property was recovered; it totaled $17.94.
Not-so-special delivery
11:50 a.m. 7000 block of 209th St. E. Information Only. A woman reported that an unknown person driving a large truck struck and demolished her concrete-based mailbox early in the morning. She believed that the truck was probably a delivery truck that had turned around on her road because she lives on a dead-end street. The estimated loss is $425.
Sept. 19
Hits and run
9:10 a.m. I-75 and University Pkwy. Public Traffic Accidents. A driver reported that he witnessed a Ford truck hit another vehicle while driving south bound on I-75. The Ford drove down the emergency lane and then veered left and struck the second vehicle with its tire. The Ford truck had large tires and was gray. The Ford did not stop once it hit the second vehicle. The witness took a photo of the license plate.
Sept. 20
Fast fists
11:38 p.m. — 7000 block of S.R. 70 E. Battery. Non-Serious Injury. The victim had had a previous altercation with the suspect at their school. On the morning of Sept. 20, the victim went to McDonald’s. While he was standing near his car in the parking lot, the suspect came up from behind him and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. The suspect proceeded to kick the victim. The victim, worried he was going to be badly injured, grabbed a rock and hit his attacker in the forehead. The victim then got into his car and drove home, where he reported the attack.
