Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) recently completed the annual Federal Aviation Administration Airport Safety Certification Inspection with zero discrepancies.
The inspection, which was completed on Feb. 28, verified the airport’s compliance with FAA regulations regulating safety procedures and installation requirements for all airports, and is a key component in maintaining the Florida Department of Transportation airport license.
FAA inspectors reviewed airfield signs, lights and markings, runway pavement and safety area conditions, airport fire department response times, wildlife management, and training records.
In a letter to Fredrick Piccolo, Sarasota-Bradenton president and CEO, the FAA wrote: “You are to be commended for the procedures that you are using in the day-to-day operation of the airport. The appearance of the airport indicates that they are effective.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of the inspection,” Piccolo said in a statement. “This exceptional achievement can be attributed to the professionalism of our dedicated staff who work tirelessly throughout the year to ensure the safety of our operations for the traveling public.”
