+ Sarasota Christian bats come alive
The Sarasota Christian softball team defeated Clearwater Central Catholic 9-2 March 28.
McKenzie Lantz went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI to lead the way for the Lady Blazers at the plate. Alyssa Miller went 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI. Cheyenne Miller went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Cheyenne Miller also earned the win on the mound, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out three.
With the win, Sarasota Christian improved to 7-1 on the season.
+ Solid sixth inning propels ODA to ‘W’
Jake Romine threw three innings of no-hit relief to lead The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team to a 6-0 victory over Fort Myers Canterbury School March 28.
ODA scored all six of its runs in the sixth inning. Najee Rhodes and Carson Jungers each had a pair of RBIs. Desmond Lindsay had two doubles and scored a run.
+ Sailors boys tennis swings past Thunder
The Sarasota High boys tennis team defeated The Out-of-Door Academy 5-2 March 25.
Andre Johnson (No. 1), Eric Scarlett (No. 2) and Sam Maxwell (No. 4) all earned singles victories for the Sailors. Johnson and Scarlett and Maxwell and Anh Tran also were victorious at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively.
Van Garcia (No. 3) and Jose Juncosa (No. 5) both won their singles matches for ODA.
+ Tennis exhibition comes to Payne Park
Former and future World Tennis Association star players will hit the court for the One By One Exhibition Series April 13, at Payne Park Tennis Center.
The event will begin with a one-set match between Ingrid Neel and Anastasia Nefedova at 10:30 a.m.
Neel and Nefedova then will team up to face Tiffany Davis and Jennifer Fiers in the featured doubles match at 11:30 a.m.

+ ODA Girls Tennis
The Out-of-Door Academy girls tennis team closed out the regular season with a 7-0 victory over rival Cardinal Mooney March 26.
Maria Ross (No. 1), Mary Ann Rompf (No. 2), Sydney Sforzo (No. 3), Megan Jones (No. 4) and Charlotte Dixon (No. 5) all earned singles victories for the Lady Thunder. Ross and Rompf then teamed up for a victory at No. 1 doubles, while Savannah Jones and Morgan Woods were victorious at No. 2 doubles.
With the win, ODA improved to 10-4 on the season. The Lady Thunder returned to the court March 31 and April 1 in the Class 1A-District 9 tournament.
