Dan Kennedy appointed SMA Prep CEO

Sarasota Military Academy CEO and founder, Dan Kennedy, has announced that he will also serve as CEO of SMA Prep.

SMA Prep is the newest addition to the military academy. The future middle school will serve sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students and offer the International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Program. The campus will be completed in July with classes beginning in August.

Kennedy says his new title will allow him to work closely with SMA Prep’s head of school, Phillip Eddy. Eddy, originally from Sarasota, is currently teaching IB at a middle school in Kuwait and will join the academy later this month.

“He’s highly qualified,” says Kennedy of Eddy. “With his IB experience he will be a great fit.”
