Futile purse-uit
9:13 a.m. — 5600 block of GMD. Missing Property. A woman went to the beach and noticed her purse was missing when she returned to her condo. Police searched the area but were unable to find it.

Bird burial
10 a.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Public Service. A bird died after striking a woman’s windshield as she drove. Police removed the bird and buried it.

Team spirit
10:44 a.m. — 6700 block of GMD. Noise. A man said the woman in the unit below was yelling, possibly about a basketball game. The woman confirmed she was cheering for her team and agreed to keep quiet.

Still suspended
7:50 p.m. — 4200 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. Police stopped a man after license cameras showed he had a suspended license. The man said the suspension ended in October. Police confiscated his license and gave him a notice to appear in court.

Gas leak
3:39 p.m. — 3400 block of Mistletoe Lane. Gas Leak. Police and firefighters responded to a gas leak and turned off the gas at a home.

March 28
Back on the boat
4:13 p.m. — 100 block of N. Shore Road. Dog on the Beach. Police told a couple on Beer Can Island that a town ordinance prohibits animals on the beach. They put their dog back on their boat and left.

Disappearing act
4:56 p.m. — 1400 block of GMD. Larceny. A man locked his bicycle in the rack in his condo garage and discovered it was missing a week later. He said other bicycles had also disappeared from the rack.

Knock, knock. Who’s there?
9:09 p.m. — 2000 block of Harbour Links Drive. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman heard a noise at her front door and thought someone was attempting to enter her home. Police checked the residence and determined the high winds most likely had caused the noise.

Under pressure
2:01 a.m. — 5600 block of GMD. Noise. A man complained about a loud machine running at a convenience store. A cleaning crew was leaving when police arrived. A pressure washer may have caused the noise.

March 30
Now you know
1:15 a.m. — 100 block of N. Shore Road. Code Enforcement. Police told two individuals on the beach after hours that the beach was closed. They said they did not know about the restrictions and left.

Family reunion
10:15 a.m. — 2900 block of Harbourside Drive. Animal Rescue. Two ducklings became trapped in a storm drain after running from a car. Police called Public Works to remove the storm cover drain. A volunteer used a net to capture both ducklings and reunite them with an adult duck and a third duckling.

Lost in translation
12:47 p.m. — 700 block of El Centro. Suspicious Circumstance. A couple noticed that their neighbor’s car door was open. The woman believes she heard men talking in a foreign language, possibly Spanish, while she was sleeping early that morning. The man said that two weeks ago, their neighbors asked if they heard anything about men walking through the complex at night. Police told them they would provide extra patrol.

Unlocked door
11:10 p.m. — 5300 block of GMD. Security Check. Police found the front door of an office unlocked. Dispatch left a voicemail on the key holder’s answering machine.

March 31
Numbers game
10:35 a.m. — 600 block of Yardarm Lane. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman received a call from a man who claimed to be an investigative agent from the IRS who claimed he needed her son’s phone number for a legal case. The woman took down his information but did not give him any information about her son. Police contacted the local IRS office and learned the man was not associated with the agency.

You’re blocking my view
1:56 p.m. — 6300 block of GMD. Property Damage. A landscaper found eight palm trees damaged on a property. He believes a neighbor damaged the palms because they blocked his view of the beach. Police tried to contact the neighbor, but he was out of town.

Hot seat
1:58 p.m. — 700 block of El Centro. Suspicious Circumstance. Approximately five or six months ago, someone spilled coffee in the back of a woman’s car.

Out on a limb
5:06 p.m. — 6600 block of Bayou Hammock Road. Property Damage. A man said a tree limb fell on top of his dump truck. The truck’s hood and cab were damaged.

April 1
Fine dining
9:13 a.m. — 4300 block of GMD. Identity Theft. An unknown individual ran up $502.34 in fraudulent charges on a man’s credit card at a barbecue restaurant and pizza parlor in Bradenton plus $80 at a nail salon over a two-week period. The man said he used his credit card at a Bradenton Beach restaurant two days before the first fraudulent charge. He asked the manager whether employees had been involved with fraudulent credit card activity. The manager told him he had recently fired a couple of women but would not disclose why.

Puncture wounds
3:01 p.m. — 4800 block of GMD. Property Damage. A woman said it appeared that someone stabbed her air-conditioning unit with a screwdriver, resulting in $900 worth of damage. Her condo complex completed roof repairs over the past few months. The manager told her the complex would compensate her for damages.
