After nearly being eliminated last week, because of low vote numbers, Sam Woolf's fans decided they wanted their "American Idol" favorite to stay in the competition a little longer.

April 10, the Braden River High senior, who has been getting his assignments sent to him in Los Angeles, while he performs on the show, easily landed a top seven spot on the singing competition, thanks to the votes of his fans.

His version of "Time After Time," by Cyndi Lauper, won over the celebrity judges — Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. — who saved Woolf from going home April 2, by using their only "save" in the 13th season.

Watch Woolf's journey continue on "American Idol" from 8 to 10 p.m., April 16, on FOX.
