Lakewood Ranch's annual Easter egg hunt returns this weekend, promising more than 12,000 eggs, spread throughout the venue for children ages 2-13, along with an Easter bunny appearance and a petting zoo for participants.

From 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., April 12, Greenbrook Adventure Park, located at 13400 Adventure Place, will transform for the egg-decorating, candy-hunting EGGstravaganza event.

The Lakewood Ranch Community Activities Corporation will host the event, which will also feature music, pony rides, balloon art and face painting booths.

This year, attendees can register to win a themed Easter basket. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the event's sponsor, The Florida Center for Early Childhood.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3 and older, and children ages 2 and under are free.
