+ Lawson named as Australian Tourist Board representative
Steven Lawson was recently named as the representative of the Australian Tourist Board for the seventh year.
Lawson co-owns St. Armands Travel, 415 St. Armands Circle, with his wife, Carol. He also sits on the New Zealand Tourist Board, Tahiti Tourist Board, Fiji Tourist Board and Cook Island Tourist Board.

+ Key Club hires new director of event management
The Resort at Longboat Key Club has hired Jonathan Lester as its new director of event management.
Lester previously worked as director of catering and convention services for nine years at the Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., he began his career in culinary arts at the Four Seasons Hotel and expanded his career to encompass all aspects of banquets, convention services and wedding planning.

+ Dr. Pamela Letts announces retirement date next month
Dr. Pamela Letts, owner of the Centre Shops Family Practice & Urgent Care, 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive, announced that she will retire May 5.

Letts practiced at the former Bay Isles Medical Center beginning in 1996 and went on to open the Centre Shops Family Practice & Urgent Care in 2003.

After May 30, her patients can write her at 3888 Lyndhurst Court, Sarasota, FL 34235, to obtain their medical records or have their records transferred to a new health care provider.

+ Tervis Tumbler store will open on St. Armands Circle
Tervis Tumbler will open its 31st store May 20, at 319 John Ringling Blvd., St. Armands Circle.
The Venice-based company produces drinkware with double-wall design that keeps beverages hotter or colder longer than cups and glasses without insulation technology.
