High five moments of the week

1 -  The Riverview High boys tennis team defeated Tampa Plant 5-1 in the second round of the regional tournament April 10 to earn a berth in the Class 4A state championships, which began April 14.

2 - Booker High runners Mia Forschner, Dominic MacRae and Rudy Esqueda all captured district titles at the Class 2A-District 11 meet April 11.

3 - Josh Bonynge hit a three-run home run and a two-run double to lead the Cardinal Mooney baseball team to a 5-0 victory over Berkeley Prep April 8.

4 - Members of the Manasota BUDS tennis program served as ball kids for the Sarasota Open wild card tournament April 6, at Laurel Oaks Country Club.

5 - Pitchers Jake Romine and Jimmy Kuebler hurled The Out-of-Door Academy to a 12-2 victory over St. Stephen’s in district action April 10.
