Piero Rivolta debuted his newest book, “One Life Many Lives,” Thursday, April 17, at Sarasota Opera House.

It’s a book of prose and poetry that examines the past to offer observations of the immediate future. The historical stories vary from childhood trips to Italy to the events of 9/11. It’s ultimately a reflection on how time keeps moving on and a reminder of the parts of humanity worth celebrating.

The title seems appropriate for the 73-year-old man who in this lifetime has lived many lives: He has headed an Italian car-manufacturing firm, IsoRivolta; reared Italian jumping horses; ran a Brazilian spinning mill; worked in real estate development; and owns a yacht company and homebuilding firm.
