The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

April 8
 Loose morals

9:39 a.m. — 4600 block of 73rd Street E. Information Only. A man said someone entered his car and stole his loose change. The man said he did not want to report it as a burglary. He just wanted an information report written.

April 13 
 Group mentality

11:53 a.m. — 6200 block of Lake Osprey Drive. Trespass Warning. A group of friends booked rooms at a hotel. They stayed in five different rooms on different floors. The hotel manager said all of the friends gave fake names, smoked in the rooms and alleged the rooms weren’t clean. At the same time, the patrons in all five rooms clogged their toilets so that hotel staff would clean the rooms. The hotel manager called the police. Each of the friends was issued a trespass warning. If they ever return to the hotel again, they will be arrested.

Game over
3:19 p.m. — 5500 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. Burglary. A woman left her vehicle locked and unattended while watching her son’s baseball game. During the game, someone smashed the driver’s side window of the vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, the person stole a purse.

Drive-thru
5:47 p.m. — 25000 block of 61st Avenue E. Criminal Mischief. A woman constructed a fence by attaching a board to a pole on her property. The woman reported someone removed the pole and board. The woman says this is an ongoing issue. People on ATVs drive through her property to access nearby county-owned land. The woman suspects juveniles caused the damage.

April 14 
 MISSING MEMENTO 

4:08 p.m. — 10600 block of Conch Shell Trail. Lost Property. A woman reported that her anniversary ring was lost. She was on her way to work when she noticed it missing.

Heel steal
6:20 p.m. — 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Theft. A woman selected three pairs of shoes inside a department store. She then attempted to exit the store without paying for the shoes, which were valued at $89.58. Department store staff stopped the woman. She tried to run away. The staff member maintained control of the woman. She was arrested.

April 15
 Open sesame 

9:15 a.m. — 5200 block of Castello Lane. Theft. Unknown suspect(s) stole a door from a vacant newly constructed home. The door is valued at $1,100. The person who reported the incident did not see anyone take the door.
