High five moments of the week

1 - Braden River High runner Michael Braxton crossed the finish line in 50.61 seconds to finish fourth in the 400-meter dash at the Class 3A-Region 3 meet April 16. He earned a berth in the state championships May 3.

2 - The Sarasota Crew won the overall title at the FSRA Sweep Championships April 26 and April 27, at Nathan Benderson Park.

3 - Braden River pitcher Eric Kimsey threw 75 pitches to lead the Pirates to a 4-0 victory against North Port in the Class 7A-District 10 semifinals April 23.

4 - The Braden River Rage 9U Maroon soccer team went 3-0 to win the Sarasota Cup April 26 and April 27.

5 - The Cardinal Mooney boys lacrosse team beat Bishop Verot 15-7 in the first round of the playoffs April 22.
