Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association
The Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association held its fourth Winter Tournament Series event April 27, at Bent Tree Country Club.
Thirteen-year-old Drew Angelo shot a 2-over-par 74 to earn medalist honors.

+ ODA’s season ends in playoffs
The Out-of-Door Academy girls lacrosse team saw its season come to an end with a 13-10 loss April 22 to Tampa Catholic in the opening round of the playoffs.

With the loss, the Lady Thunder finished the season 12-2.

Kimmy Comito scored six goals and added two assists. Tess Siciliano had two goals. Taylor Albano and Adelaide Mahler each added a goal. Abby Bannar had 10 saves.

+ LRCC to hold summer golf camp
Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club will hold its summer golf camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning June 10.

Participants will receive PGA golf instruction on full swing, short game, putting, rules and play on the course and other elements.

Cost is $250 per child per week; $695 for three sessions; or $1,600 per child for the entire summer, which runs through Aug. 15. A 10% sibling discount is available. After-care from 4 to 6 p.m. is available for $10 a day.

+ Mustangs will host summer hoops camp
Lakewood Ranch High will hold its annual summer basketball camp from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 16 to 19; June 23 to 26; July 7 to 10; and July 14 to 17.

The camp, which is open to boys and girls entering second through ninth grades, includes skills and drills, full-court games, contests, elite-level instruction and more.

Cost is $130, or $160 with lunch provided. Multi-week and sibling discounts also are available. All campers will receive a T-shirt and a basketball.

+ Ellenton to start hockey program
The Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex will hold its summer Storm recreational hockey program from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. May 2 through June 27.

The eight-week program, which is open to 30 skaters and three goalies, will focus on skills, drills and scrimmages for squirt and

peewee players. Cost is $125 per player.
