Sarasota County deputies arrested 20-year-old Carmon Merideth last week, after finding a large amount of marijuana in his truck.

After surveilling Merideth, officers conducted a traffic stop on the 1999 Ford F-150 for following another vehicle too closely. During a search, deputies found nearly two pounds of cannabis, $740 in cash and a scale covered in marijuana residue, according to a probable cause affidavit provided by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

Merideth told authorities he lives in Pompano Beach but was in possession of an Indiana license. The Sheriff’s Office charged him with possession of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sarasota Police officers arrested Merideth in 2012 on similar charges after finding 250 grams of marijuana, a BB gun, cocaine and $18,000 in cash.
