Timber!
9:57 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Property Damage. Police saw a drug store delivery truck swipe a low-hanging branch with its trailer, resulting in the entire tree crashing down on a nearby fence. The store manager arranged for clearing of the road and fence repairs.
A helping hand
12:29 p.m. — 4400 GMD. Lost Property. A man who lost his driver’s license, credit cards and $400 cash a week earlier called police because he had a flight leaving later that evening. The officer called the airport for the man and notified security so he could board without his ID.
Road rage
1:44 p.m. — 600 block of Linley Street. Disturbance. A man on a bicycle said he was nearly run over after a man driving a truck pulled out in front of him. Police were called after an argument ensued between the cyclist, driver and several passengers in the vehicle. Police located the driver of the truck, but he and the cyclist had conflicting stories.
A Crowded Turtle
5:39 p.m. — 3700 GMD. Animal Rescue. Police responded to a call about a beached and possibly distressed turtle. When the officer arrived, 10 people were gathered around a 150-pound turtle that had recently nested and was heading back to the Gulf. Police put caution tape around the nest and notified Turtle Watch.

Noise from above
3:12 p.m. — 4600 block of GMD. Disturbance. Continuous commotion from above his condominium prompted a man to call police. He said a young boy jumps up and down all day and all evening. While on the scene, police heard the noise and notified the neighboring couple and their grandson about the town’s noise ordinance.
July 27
An empty house
5:39 p.m. — 500 block of Kingfisher Lane. Suspicious Circumstance. Police were notified after an alleged female on an Internet chartroom attempted suicide by taking pills and drinking alcohol. Police traced the threat to a local residence with a for-sale sign in the driveway, however, the house appeared to be empty upon their arrival.
