The Covenant Life Church of Palmer Ranch hosted its Day of Hope outreach event July 26. The event helped more than 150 children, primarily from Gulf Gate Elementary, with getting ready for school. Hundreds of volunteers and Sarasota organizations, including Blondie’s Cookies, All Faiths Food Bank, Publix and Yoder’s, made the free, day-long event possible. Families enjoyed a meal before they navigated through services such as dental and medical exams, haircuts and family photos, before playing in the bounce house and receiving backpacks full of school supplies.
