THAT’S NOT FARE
11:39 p.m. — 4900 block of 79th Street E. Petit Theft First Degree. A woman was at an establishment in Tampa and became intoxicated. She called for a cab company to pick her up and drive her home to Bradenton. A cab driver responded and took her to her residence. Upon arrival, the cab driver requested payment of $124.90. The woman tried to pay the driver with five different credit cards, all of which the bank declined. The woman had no other funds with which to pay. Law enforcement arrived, but the woman had entered her home and locked the door, leaving the cab driver outside. The woman told authorities she knew she did not have money to pay before she entered the cab.

BAG GRAB
8:51 a.m. — 8100 block of Lakewood Main Street. Lost Property. While shopping, a woman set down a bag containing shoes she had just purchased. She left the bag next to a bench. Once she realized she had left the bag at the bench, she returned about 20 minutes later, but could not find the bag. She did not know if someone maliciously took the bag or placed it in lost and found.
ON YOUR MARK
5:18 p.m. — 6800 block of Sagebrush Circle. Criminal Mischief. While on patrol, a man approached the deputy about marks on his front door and rear slider. He stated he believed they may have occurred while he was working during the day and no vehicle was parked in the driveway. Due to the small marks (missing paint chips) at the front door, it does not appear to have been pried with any force, and it appears in an unlikely position on the door jamb to gain entry to the house. At the rear of the house, the sliding-door jamb was pried out a small amount, about one-eighth inch. It appears a screwdriver would have been wide enough to cause the damage. The area where the door jamb was pried was above the door’s lock. Unauthorized access to the house was not made.
Repair RIP-off
2:20 p.m. — 4100 Murfield Drive E. Petit/Grand Theft. A woman reported items stolen from her home. She had several people over to her house on certain dates to complete kitchen repairs. She believes one of the workers must have taken the items. The woman provided the contractor’s information.
License Found
Aug. 4 — 14300 block of State Road 70 E. Found Property. Someone found a driver’s license at the gas station.
