Longboat Key resident Forrest Schield is healing after doctors recently removed a rare form of cancer from his head. Schield, 21, is a student at State College of Florida and also works at Quik-n-Easy. He’s determined to continue his courses so he can become a University of Florida Gator next year.

Schield will continue his studies at home for the beginning of the semester but is looking for a math tutor who would be willing to come to his home each week for the next month or so. Because the family is facing the costs of cancer treatment, a tutor who is willing to donate his or her time would be especially appreciated.
