+ All-Star cheerleader comes to East County
California All-Star SMOED cheerleader Gabi Butler, along with Jack Kidney, held a stunt- and-flying clinic for more than 85 cheerleaders July 16, at Dynasty Elite All Stars.

Dynasty Elite All Stars is a competitive cheer organization that teaches cheerleading and tumbling to children of all ages. The organization recently moved to its new location, 3231 59th Ave. Drive E., Bradenton.

+ Ava Krug claims regional tennis title
Nine-year-old Ava Krug won the Little Mo Southeast Regional Girls 9U division title July 26 to July 28, in Jacksonville.

Krug defeated Daytona Beach’s Lilly Pleasant 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and Hayden Mulberry, of Smyrna, Ga., 6-1, 6-4 in the semifinals. In the finals, Krug held off Saige Severance, of Daniel Island, S.C., 6-2, 6-2.

With the win, Krug qualified for the Little Mo Nationals Oct. 24 through Oct. 27, in Austin, Texas.

+ Registration now open for soccer club
Registration for the Braden River Soccer Club’s 2014 fall recreational season is now open.
The league is open to players ranging in age from U5 to U18.

Online registration is preferred, but on-site registration will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 23 and 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 25 and Aug. 27.

Cost is $115 for U5 to U7; $125 for U8 to U10; and $135 for U11 to U18.

The registration deadline is Aug. 30. Games will be held Saturdays, Oct. 4 through Dec. 13.

+ Chargers Soccer registration underway
The Chargers Soccer Club at Lakewood Ranch now is accepting players for its fall recreational soccer program at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch.

The Chargers Soccer Club recreational program is designed to provide a fun learning environment for development. The program is open to players of all skill levels, ages 5 to 10.

Lakewood Ranch YMCA Wave Runners
The Lakewood Ranch YMCA Wave Runners made a splash at the 2014 Florida Swimming Age Group Championships July 17 through July 20 and 2014 Florida Swimming Senior Championships July 24 through July 27.

Several swimmers posted top 10 finishes while setting new personal best times. Individual accomplishments include:

• Emily Loefrgren: 200-yard breaststroke (fifth) and 100 breaststroke (seventh)

• Kate Walker: 50 backstroke (second) and 50 butterfly (fifth)

• Courtney Chapin: 200 backstroke (second) and 100 backstroke (fourth)

Summer Cardwell and Katelynn Coons also set personal best times in all of their events. Chapin, along with Kevin Berkenbusch and Alec Muklewicz, had multiple personal best swims.
